How does the concierge option of OBM differ from a traditional insurance-based practice?

Ocean Blue Medical emphasizes “medicine as it used to be” by using a membership model that enables Dr. Tonner to address every patient individually and thoroughly.

With the concierge model, both the physician and nurse practitioner can devote more time to each patient within a much smaller patient population.

Can I call the doctor anytime?

Yes, direct access to your physician is covered under the membership fee. You can read more about this on the “Benefits” page.

What if I need to see a specialist?

With almost 30 years in the Vero Beach medical community, Dr. Tonner has an extensive network of specialists and will facilitate timely and appropriate referrals as needed.

What if I need immediate care?

For non-life-threatening emergencies, Dr. Tonner will be available 24/7 by phone or text message – often eliminating the need to go to the Emergency Room. However, in cases of chest pain, bleeding etc., call 9-1-1 immediately.

What if the doctor is on vacation?

You will never be without a trusted medical team member. All patients will be notified via email in advance of planned vacations and coverage alternatives.

What if I want to cancel my membership at OBM?

You can cancel your membership at any time with 30 days advanced notice. Ocean Blue Medical will refund membership patients at a prorated rate. This also applies to any patient who passes away.
